New Starters September 2023
Getting to Know Us
At Parson Cross CE Primary, we believe that the link between home and school is incredibly important and we know that when parents and school work together children thrive. We like to establish those links right from the outset, so we offer many opportunities for you and your child to become familiar with key staff and school routines before September arrives.
The reception year is a very special one indeed. It marks the first formal year of education for your child and the Early Years curriculum is specially designed to allow your child to develop a love of learning which will serve them for their entire life. Transitioning into this first year at school is important not only for your child, but also for you as parents/carers.
Please be reassured that we will do everything that we can to ensure that the transition into our school runs as smoothly as possible for everyone. Once your place has been confirmed we will be in touch with more information about the following events.
Parent Information Evening
It is wonderful to hear that your family are considering joining us in September. To ensure that your child gets off to a flying start and to answer any questions which you may have, we will invite you to a welcome evening here in school once places are confirmed.
Home Visits
Your child’s teacher will visit you at home to meet you and your child in their most familiar and comfortable environment. This is an opportunity for you to discuss any specific issues or concerns which you have or simply to share information. A sign-up sheet will be available at our meeting for you to choose an appropriate time and date.
Nursery Visits
Over the coming months, our staff will visit your child in their current setting and talk to their key workers to learn as much as possible about their interests, needs and how we can help them settle in quickly.
Visits for Children
Later in summer term there will be an opportunity for your child to spend a morning session here at Parson Cross CE Primary School in their new classroom and to meet their teacher and classmates.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to pop in, or pick up the phone if you have any concerns at all. We are committed to ensuring that every child has the very best, happiest and smoothest start to their school life and that you find it as painless as possible too!
