Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum is everything that we do in school. It consists of our intentions, schemes and units of work to help your child learn and deliver the National Curriculum at the appropriate level for each year group. We aim to provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that promotes the whole child’s development. It includes the wide range of experiences and opportunities children get during their time with us, from visits to the discovery centre, music tuition, DT sessions with an expert and residential visits.

While the teaching and learning of Maths and English is a crucial part of each day, every child’s social, physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth is also a vital part of our curriculum.

The National Curriculum provides us with a curriculum which we use as a framework for planning challenging and engaging activities to meet the needs of individual children. From this framework, each year group develop themes through which subjects are taught. From Explorers to Freedom, each focus of study gives pupils a context to learn.
