Our vision for Parson Cross CE Primary School is to provide a centre of learning excellence that raises the aspirations of the whole community. To be a school that offers life-changing opportunities in a safe, creative, spiritually reflective and exciting environment. Our school aims to discover the tiny spark of genius inside everyone in our school. It is a place where everyone is valued and inspired to flourish academically and personally. As they leave us to move on, they will do so with a wealth of choices in their future, equipped with both the ability and desire to make a positive contribution to their world.
Our school is a rather special place. We encourage children first and foremost to believe in themselves. We do this by inspiring them and opening their eyes to a host of new experiences, showing that a whole world of possibilities is available to them. In doing this, we endeavour to build strong relationships between children, families and staff so that everyone in our school community feels supported.
Children are encouraged to believe in each other, develop strong friendships and offer encouragement and support to their peers.
We have high expectations of our entire school community. We believe that everyone is capable of success and that with high-quality teaching, strong partnerships and high expectations, everyone can achieve.
Achievements in our school go beyond test scores and high attainment. In our school, achievement also means preparing children for the future. If a child feels good about themselves, they know that mistakes are an essential part of life. With support, resilience and a ‘can-do’ attitude, they will tackle the most testing times with positivity and achieve more than they may once have thought possible.
Achievement in our school means knowing how to be a compassionate and responsible member of the community, taking responsibility for the world around them.
Achievement means developing in every child a thirst for learning and discovering what really ignites each child’s imagination. In doing this, children leave us as confident and motivated young people full of choices for the future.
At Parson Cross, we love to celebrate success.
Achievements take many forms. It may be successfully staying away from home for the first time on a residential visit, being incredibly kind to someone in need or writing a fantastic story. Whatever the reason, we take the time to celebrate achievements and all that has gone into making them happen.
Children receive a unique celebration log in which individual achievements are recorded throughout their time in school. In our weekly celebration assembly, they are also encouraged to share and celebrate achievements with their family. All of this reinforces a child’s belief in themselves.
