The study of English should enable children to communicate their thoughts, feelings and ideas coherently through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Children should be enthused to share their ideas and be provided with continuous opportunities to become critical readers of stories, poetry and drama, as well as of non-fiction and media texts.
Children should develop communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing and be able to apply these to a variety of situations across the curriculum as well as in real life situations.
