At Parson Cross CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all our pupils, regardless of their background or circumstances, have the opportunity to reach their full potential. This is where our Pupil Premium strategy plays a crucial role.
The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to support the education of disadvantaged pupils. At Parson Cross, we use this funding to implement a range of targeted interventions and support measures that address the specific needs and challenges faced by our disadvantaged children.
Our intention is that all pupils, despite their background, difficulties or challenges, achieve highly and make progress that reflects their true potential and capabilities. The focus of our Pupil Premium Strategy is to strive to ensure that all disadvantaged children, including those who are high achievers, are given the support and guidance to achieve their full potential both academically and personally in order to become well-rounded members of society.
We consider the needs and challenges faced by our disadvantaged children throughout our school, and as a result, we ensure that the activities outlined in this strategy address those needs directly. At the heart of our Strategy, as always, is high-quality first teaching, as this is proven to close the gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils.
The attainment and progress, both academic and personal, of all children in our school is our highest priority. Therefore, our intention is that this strategy will ensure that not only the disadvantaged pupils' attainment will be consistently improved and sustained, but also that of their non-disadvantaged peers.
Pupil Premium funding is available to pupils from low-income families who are currently eligible for free school meals (FSM) or have been eligible for FSM in the last six years (known as 'Ever 6 FSM'). It also includes children who have been looked after by the local authority for more than six months and children of service personnel.
If you believe your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, please speak to the school office, and they will be happy to guide you through the process of claiming.
At Parson Cross CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that our Pupil Premium strategy is effective in supporting the academic and personal development of our disadvantaged pupils. We firmly believe in our school's values of Believe, Achieve, and Celebrate, and these principles are at the heart of everything we do.
By working closely with our families and the wider community, we strive to provide our disadvantaged pupils with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive and succeed, both in their academic journey and in their personal growth. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child is empowered to reach their full potential.
If you have any further questions or would like to discuss our Pupil Premium strategy in more detail, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.
We also recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. We reserve the right to allocate the pupil premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged.
At Parson Cross CE Primary, we are committed to closing the attainment gap between our disadvantaged pupils and their peers, and we hope to do this by ensuring that all our pupils get access to an engaging and inspiring curriculum, the best teaching and learning, and targeted support based on best practice highlighted in the Teaching and Learning Toolkit.
