What does it mean that we are a ‘Church School’?
As a Voluntary Aided Church of England primary school, the Christian values of love, care for others, and a response to the needs of the world are at the heart of our school's ethos.
At Parson Cross, we believe that every child is unique and has the potential to thrive, and we are dedicated to unlocking the "spark of genius" within each and every one of our pupils.
Our Christian Ethos
All members of our school community - children, staff, parents, and governors - are encouraged to value and respect themselves, each other, the wider community, and the environment. This respect and care for one another is rooted in the teachings of the Christian faith.
Nurturing Spirituality
To ensure that our Christian character is woven throughout school life, we:
A Distinctive Difference
As a Church of England primary school, you will notice that the way in which we work is different and distinctive. This is because our Christian values shape the way we behave, the way we respect one another, and the way we approach education.
Unlocking Potential
It is our mission here at Parson Cross CE Primary to unlock the potential in every child, whether it be in academic, social, or sporting areas. We believe that with high-quality teaching, strong partnerships, and high expectations, every child can achieve and succeed.
Celebrating Success
At Parson Cross, we love to celebrate the successes of our pupils, no matter how big or small. We recognise that achievements take many forms, and we take the time to celebrate each child's unique accomplishments, reinforcing their belief in themselves and their abilities.
If you would like to learn more about our school and our Christian ethos, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We would be delighted to welcome you to Parson Cross CE Primary School.
Parson Cross CE Primary is a Voluntary Aided Church of England school. This means that the school is owned by the Church of England and a majority of the governors are appointed by the Church. The teachers are appointed and employed by the governing body. As a church school we have our own Admission Policy which differs from Local Authority schools.
As a Church of England school, we still follow the National Curriculum, but our Religious Education syllabus is largely Christian and we hold Christian themed assemblies. We do of course teach other religions and we are proud of the positive attitudes and values that we promote. We welcome children from “Churches Together” as well as children whose families profess no faith.
